Better Than Wolves
Goal
- Competent player should be able to kill the dragon in at most 60 hours or so
- Make an experience that is closer to pre-AAAH gameplay
- Not a recommend way to play
- Still have the richness of post-AAAH early game
- Cater slightly to the crowd of people that stopped play BTW when it became too hardcore
- Mods that add to the tech tree become feasible (no one wants to make a mod that takes 300 hours to get to on a good day)
Ideas
- Jumping doesn't drain hunger
- Mobs don't hunt animals or villagers
- Animals don't flee when blocks are placed
- Compass doesn't require you to go down to third strata
- Villagers don't start out as zombies
- Items dropped on death don’t despawn in unloaded chunks
- Abandonment radius for villages is only 1000 blocks from spawn
- HCS radius stays at the initial 2000 blocks forever
- New moon is barely enough light not to be in gloom
- Torches don't spread fire (or just nether torches?)
- Pigmen can't be aggro'd from ghast balls
